My Sexy Saturday: Their Sexy Talk

This week’s theme is Their Sexy Talk and it’s all about how lovers talk to each other. We know you’ve noticed it. Whenever you get into a room of people, where there are other couples, notice how they talk to each other. Sometimes you can tell when there’s tension, other times you wonder just what makes them so happy and there are others still when their happiness is practically contagious.

This is a slightly different couple. Isaac is nearly comatose after having been badly beaten. Ray is taking care of his beloved as best he can. And the pair are working as oracles with a traveling carnival, using Isaac's telepathy.

Your Seven Sexy Sentences:

Ray had brought out their pan of dirty dishes, deciding now was the perfect time to get a little
housecleaning done, and had settled the washtub in front of his feet, half-filled with water and soap.

“Quit your gripin’,” he grumbled with a hidden grin as he grabbed a tin plate from the sudsy water and gave it a quick once over with the rag in his hand. “You want a sunburn like you had last time? You should be glad I found that in storage.”

Isaac sat shaded beside him beneath a large Japanese parasol, a leftover bit of hokum from the previous season that had been taking up valuable space in one of the storage caravans. It was relatively large considering its origin as a cheap carnival prize, its papered surface decorated with tiny blue flowers and cranes wading elegantly through water. Isaac was not pleased by the unrelenting pinkness of the item

Run in circles, scream and shout

Well, ducks, we're about to set sail for Atlanta again.

Last weekend was MidSouth Con.
We had a good time.

The Mortalus LARP happened, and my own oldest played the part of High Chief Mankiller, and did it quite well.

I had some very fun panels, including an impromptu sex panel drummed up at 1 AM. I was named moderator as I was quite possibly the most sozzled person in the room.

Sales were awful. First quarter royalties aren't going to be much of anything this year, loves.  But you will get your notices after FrioliCon is over.

Frolic is in April, so it's second quarter.

News in Brief:

1) Somewhere Out There, the SF erotica anthology, is in edits, still. Our editor came down with a virulent respiratory infection and so was laid up a bit. We're hoping it's not the Black Plague. We should have it out soon, as she is on the mend. Pre-orders are still being taken.

2) Mortalus is available in paperback beta edition. The system is all there but we lack art.
You can acquire this at Amazon. Ebook to follow.

3) Pan's Garden, the genderqueer anthology, is in the contracting stage! We're excited about this!

4) We are currently taking stories for Master Mine (May 15) and  Have Quest, Will Travel (June 15)

5) We are starting a newsletter, about once or twice a month, it will have all sorts of goodies in it. If you would like to be a part, please get me your email address. I'm at inkstainedsuccubus at gmail, put Newsletter in the subject line.

Now, excuse me, I have to pack and cook and clean and panic a bit more before I leave on Thursday!

My Sexy Saturday: Sexy Me Once

We all know that love happens and we want to know all about those special moments where those entities realize there is an emotional bond between one another. It can happen on an average day, during the night, in the middle of a zombie invasion or maybe a place where it’s hard to tell the day from the night like in a submarine or deep in space. The one thing we do know it’s going to be hot…hot…HOT!

From Jimmy Gillentine's Crossroads:

Your Seven Sexy Paragraphs:

Soon, where the Beast once sat, stood the man that Angela had traveled so far to see. Andrew stood up before her, dirt and dried blood covering his entire body. His hair was tangled and matted, and a thick beard covered his entire face. But in the light of the fire, Angela saw Andrew’s steel-blue eyes looking at her, full of tears.

“Andrew,” Angela said, drawing closer to him, “I’ve missed you so much.” She tried to wrap her arms around him, but he gently stopped her and backed away.

“Why?” Andrew spoke, his voice sounding harsh and still close to being animal-like. “Why did you come looking for me?”

Angela looked at him and drew even closer. Her hand went up to his chest and lightly touched it. She could feel his heart beating fast, and his muscles flinched from her touch.

“I had to find you, Andrew…”

“My name is not Andrew!” he yelled.

Angela didn’t even flinch. “It’s the only name I know to call you.” Angela said, moving her hand up to his face.“It’s the name of the man I love.”

Five Influences

Five Influences on Adventuresses

Adventuresseswebcover

Adventuresses, a collection of lesbian short stories, is one of Inkstained Succubus' steadiest sellers. The idea came about because the Literary Underworld had many requests for lesbian stories since they had several gay books on the rack. I had two pieces of 10,000+ words that had come out from under contract, as well as about 6000 more of the trucker lesbians. So I put it all together, wrote a few more and went from there.

But where did the ideas for the stories themselves come from?
Your Captain has answers.

1) Ice Pirates.

The diner scene in "Rewriting Old Songs" is lifted almost wholesale from the bar scene in Ice Pirates.
th
"Now you owe the lady and me an apology."

2) "A Thorough Examination/In Depth" (audio fic here)

I didn't know I HAD a medical fetish until I encountered this very dark bit of Sherlock fanfic. But apparently I did. It inspired some of the medical play in "Induced Paroxysms." There are a lot of other inspirations to that piece, including FroliCon and many steampunkers of my acquaintance.

3) "Mummy Medusa" by Skinny White Chick. (go, listen, I'll wait)

Because s00j rocks beyond the telling of it and this song is amazing. The backstory is, once upon a time, Medusa and Rapunzel fell in love with the same man. At a concert, she said "of course, if I wrote this as fiction, they'd probably fall for each other. In "Rock Us All Down," they do exactly that.

4) "John Wesley Harding" by Bob Dylan

"Carried a gun in every hand." This line made me wonder how many hands he had. Which in turn, gave me the image of the four-armed gunslinger in "That time they talk about." That's one universe I would like to revist. There are a lot of influences on that story, including Kornbluth's "Two Dooms" from the Hitler Victorious anthology, King's The StandHeavy Metal and any number of old western movies.

5) This picture.
janis_post11

It was a very popular poster of Janis Joplin and it inspired the lesbian scene in "Eight Days Ablaze." Ellora's Cave made me cut the scene, so I reworked it for this book, called it by the original title, "Burning for Eight Days" and let Adina have her sapphic fun.
